Joins us on the Generation Equality forum !

The Generation Equality Forum is a global gathering for gender equality, organized by UN Women and co-chaired by France and Mexico, in partnership with and under the leadership of civil society. The Forum will be launched in Mexico City on May 7th and 8th, 2020 and will culminate in Paris between July 7th and 10th, 2020.

Twenty-five years after the landmark Fourth World Conference on Women, and the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, which is the most comprehensive framework for women’s empowerment for equality between women and men, the Forum will take stock of progress and develop a program of concrete measures to achieve equality between women and men before 2030, in the framework of the unprecedented intergenerational campaign "Generation Equality: for women’s rights and an egalitarian future ".

The Forum will take the form of an international public discussion to promote rapid action and accountability for gender equality. It will celebrate the power of women’s rights advocacy, feminist solidarity and the impetus of youth to achieve a profound transformation. To enable maximum participation, it will be linked directly to other parts of the world through interactive meetings.

The leaders of various actors (civil society, public authorities, companies, municipalities, parliamentary assemblies, trade unions, media, etc.) will meet and participate in this forum, which will focus on intergenerational and multi-stakeholder partnerships. It will lead to concrete partnerships and empowerment for more rapid action on key issues to achieve gender equality.
