French Ambassadors Week (28 to 31 August 2017)
What’s it about?
Since 1993, French Ambassadors Week brings together all of the heads of French diplomatic missions from all over the world in late August every year. This meeting provides an opportunity for the highest French authorities to set the priorities of our diplomacy for them.
It is also an occasion for Ambassadors to talk among themselves and to debate with elected representatives, experts and civil-society and private-sector representatives. Some of the week’s events are open to the public. People are able to discover what French ambassadors do and better understand today’s main diplomacy issues.
This year, French Ambassadors Week focuses on the theme: Revitalizing our action in a radically changing world.
#1Ambassador1Entrepreneur: More than 400 entrepreneurs will meet with ambassadors of targeted countries to present their projects and assess their opportunities.
Three topic-driven round tables: Debates open to the public will be held on 29 August on today’s main international current events: Can multilateralism still keep the peace? Will there ever be a cyberwar? With Brexit, what future is in store for the European Union?
Up close and personal with ambassadors: Twelve ambassadors will be present on 29 August to talk about their careers, their experience and their daily lives as diplomats.
The studio will make it possible to follow a selection of the week’s events live and talk with ambassadors via live debates, interviews, special features and behind-the-scene reports. It will be possible to follow the week’s events and interact via social networks.
