Donation to local charities
On July 24th, the Consul General gave a cash donation of ZAR 23,600 to two local charities, Children of the Dawn and the French Charity Society of Johannesburg.
These donations were made possible thanks to the generosity of the participants in the raffle held on the occasion of the reception of 14 July 2018 in Johannesburg.
[Children of the Dawn6>http://www.childrenofthedawn.org.za/], an association founded in May 2002 and led by one of our compatriots, Ms. Magali MALHERBE, is dedicated to the education of South African orphans from disadvantaged rural areas, and manages about twenty centers in South Africa. 1,498 children have already benefited from the aid programs of this association, which currently hosts 805 orphans in its centers. If you wish to obtain more information about this association and support it, we invite you to contact its director: firstname.lastname@example.org
The French Charitable Society of Johannesburg (SFBJ), founded in 1898, is currently headed by Mrs. Hélène BEZUIDENHOUDT. It is a relay of the Consulate General for social action. You are encouraged, in the name of solidarity with our elders and our compatriots in precariousness, to help the SFBJ either by donations or by personally engaging in its support actions.
